MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee will honor a large group of student-athletes during Tuesday's men's basketball game with Cleveland State.

The 153 student-athletes who earned a grade-point average of 3.0 or better will be recognized during special ceremonies at halftime. The group accounts for more than 52 percent of UWM's total student-athlete population.

This marks the 22nd-straight semester where UWM's departmental GPA was above a 3.0, with the department's cumulative GPA sitting at 3.09.

Milwaukee placed five student-athletes on the Horizon League's 2011 Fall Academic All-League Team, with four of UWM's five fall sports having standouts that were recognized for their combined academic and athletic success. Plus, last spring, a record 103 student-athletes on Horizon League Honor Roll. The fall list has not yet been announced.

Overall, UWM has had 11 student-athletes named Academic All-Americans since 2004 and the graduation success rate for the department is nearly twice that of students who are not student-athletes.

Tonight's game tips off at 7 p.m. at the U.S. Cellular Arena.
