Kevin O'Connor is in his 11th year directing the media relations efforts for Milwaukee Athletics and is currently the associate athletic director for communications.
O'Connor joined the UWM staff in October of 2000, serving as the sports information director and special assistant to the athletic director. He is the main contact for men's basketball, women's volleyball and tennis while also overseeing broadcasting and video operations. Plus he serves as the sport administrator for volleyball and was the tournament director for the 2011 Horizon League Men's Basketball Championship in Milwaukee.
Prior to coming to UWM, O'Connor established a wide-ranging media background. He was the program director at WOSH Radio in Oshkosh, Wis., where he served as the play-byplay voice for UW-Oshkosh basketball and the voice of the NCAA Division III College World Series. O'Connor also worked as the news director, sports director and program director of WPVL Radio in Platteville, Wis. He was actively involved in the broadcast coverage of UW-Platteville sports, broadcasting two NCAA Division III National Championships and a third at WSUP Radio in Platteville.
O'Connor's media background also includes time as a student assistant and interim sports information director at UW-Platteville. He has worked for the Associated Press and done freelance work for the Wisconsin State Journal and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel while contributing to D3Hoops.com. O'Connor also spent a year as an on-air host and producer at WAUK Radio in Milwaukee.
Kevin, his wife, Beth, and daughter, Libby, live in Brown Deer.
