Register For Cheerleading Clinic

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panther cheerleaders and stuntmen cheer for women's volleyball and both men's and women's basketball. The squads attend every home game and select tournament games. UWM Cheer & Stunt teams represent the University on and off campus at various events, promote and support Panther Athletics, and generate crowd participation. The squad is comprised of two teams: the black squad cheers for men's basketball games and competes, the gold squad cheers for women's volleyball and women's basketball and decides as a team if they want to compete each year.

Cheerleader and Stuntman Responsibilities

• Practices
Summer practices are usually weekend clinics held once in June, once in July and in the days leading up to camp at the beginning of August. During the school year, practices are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for 4 hours - which includes team workouts in the athletic weight room after regular practice. Additional work outs are required but are scheduled in small groups at convenient times.

• Commitment
Outside of summer practices & camp, the cheerleading season lasts from September through March. Games often occur during winter break, and basketball tournaments can occur during spring break - required games, events, workouts and practices are mandatory for all team members. Cheerleading is a MAJOR personal commitment of your non-academic time and cannot be placed secondary to other non-academic activities (ex. clubs, sororities, fraternities, jobs, etc).
