MILWAUKEE-UWM sophomore Kristy Naef finished the heptathlon by placing second with 4,810 points Thursday afternoon at the Kansas Relays in Lawrence, Kan.

Day two of the heptathlon included the long jump, javelin, and 800m run. Naef jumped 18'10.00" in the long jump, threw the javelin 95'7.00" and ran the 800m in 2:31.68. Sophomore Stephanie Kenesie finished eighth in the same event with 4,282. She recorded 16'9.25" in the long jump, 102'4.00" in the javelin, and 2:39.97 in the 800m. Both Panthers were just points away from their personal bests in the heptathlon which they recorded earlier in the month at Eastern Illinois.

Also competing in the Kansas Relays were senior Aaron Nodolf and sophomore Abby Hurst in the 8,000m run. Nodolf ran in 14:56.06 to finish second while Hurst ran a season-best 18:25.78 to place fourth.

The rest of the Panthers begin the week's competition with the Marquette Invitational on Friday at 3 p.m. in Milwaukee, while a few others from the team will continue at the Kansas Relays on Saturday.
