Panthers Capture Cross Country Titles
Panther Women finish season opener with perfect score of 15; Men score 16 for win.
Sept. 12, 2000 MILWAUKEE - The Panther Women's Cross Country team earned a perfect score over the weekend en route to a first place finish at Green Bay. The Men's team had their top five finishers place in the top six slots, earning them 16 points for the title. The Panther Women were led by sophomore Abby Hurst, who set a new course record on the UW-Green Bay campus. Hurst finished in a time of 18:53, followed by junior Liz Pesch (19:26), freshman Alison Shattuck (19:38), freshman Natalie Miko (20:08), and junior Tricia Pozel (20:17). The men were led by senior Aaron Nodolf who finished in first place in a time of 26:57. Junior Patrick Harrington (27:48), junior Eric Jelinski (28:55), freshman Andrew Kivioja (28:56), and sophomore Jeremy Dunn (29:35) placed second, third, fourth and sixth, respectivley for UWM. The Panthers are next in action September 23 at the Briggs & Stratton Run in Milwaukee at 10:15 a.m. |
