MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee baseball team has received a commitment from Adam Reuss of Gurnee, Ill., who has completed his intent to enroll at Milwaukee and will play for the Panthers next season.

Head coach Scott Doffek announced the signing today.

Reuss, a 6-foot-4, 180 pound right-hander, plays for Warren Township High School and was an Illinois North Suburban All-League and Honorable Mention Lake County All-Area selection as a junior.

"Adam is a very talented athlete with a great pitchers frame, and I am excited to add him to the group that we have coming in," pitching coach Cory Bigler said. "His arm works easy and he can really spin the ball. He is a high ceiling guy."

Last season, he went 5-2 with one save, posting a 2.82 earned run average and 70 strikeouts in 62 innings of work. He was also selected to play in Stevenson Showcase and went 5-0 for the Northern Knights, his summer travel team.

A multi-sport athlete, he was the starting quarterback for his high school team, earning all-area and all-conference honors this past fall when he led it to the IHSA playoffs after recording 2,000 passing yards, 335 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns.
