Another Schedule Change Announced For UWM Baseball
May 9, 2013
MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee baseball team will no longer be heading to Illinois Monday, as its game against Chicago State University has been cancelled and will not be made up.
Chicago State was supposed to be able to play the 2013 campaign at its new on-campus baseball facility, but the field is still not ready for games and the team has been playing at other venues for its home contests this spring.
Head coach Scott Doffek has announced today that the game has been cancelled.
With that the case, the Panthers will play their final five games at home to close out the 2013 regular season. Things get underway against Youngstown State Friday at 3 p.m. at Henry Aaron Field. Students are invited with free shuttles from the residence halls and free pizza for the first 100 in attendance.
The weekend series also has a 1 p.m. start Saturday and a noon start Sunday for "Senior Day".
The regular season then concludes at home Tuesday with a 3 p.m. doubleheader against Northern Illinois.
