Final Regular Season Baseball Series Rained Out

May 22, 2004

MILWAUKEE - The four-game Horizon League series between the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Youngstown State University has been cancelled due to continuing rain in the Milwaukee area. The series, which was to be the final regular season series of the 2004 campaign, never got underway as the weather forced unplayable conditions at Henry Aaron Field.

The Panthers will finish the regular season 22-28 and 9-10 in the Horizon League and will now advance to the 2004 Horizon League Tournament. The tournament, which will be played at Eastwood Field in Niles, Ohio, is set to begin Wednesday (May 26) with the championship game scheduled for Sunday (May 30). Milwaukee currently sits in sixth-place in the league standings but can finish as high as fourth depending on the outcome of the other two Horizon League series being played this weekend.
