MILWAUKEE - Javon McCrea had 31 points and 11 rebounds to lead Buffalo to a convincing 72-52 win over the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Wednesday night at the Klotsche Center.

The Bulls scored the first nine points of the game and never really looked back.

Jordan Aaron scored 23 points and Paris Gulley 16 for Milwaukee (2-6), but the Panthers were outscored 58-22 in the paint and saw Buffalo (3-7) shoot nearly 56 percent from the field.

"The one thing that we have to learn as a group is the pride and the passion it takes to wear a Milwaukee uniform," Milwaukee head coach Rob Jeter said. "Clearly, we're not in a place we want to be. Right now, the way we're playing is obviously not the way we want them to play, and we have to figure out how to get them back on the right path. We're in a bad place right now."

Milwaukee, which has dropped its last five games, did respond slightly after the early 9-0 hole. The Panthers pulled within 11-8 on a four-point play by Aaron and to within 15-12 on a pair of free throws by the point guard.

But it was all Buffalo from there, as the Bulls extended the edge to 36-21 by halftime and never saw it dip under 11 in the second half.

"Fundamentally we're breaking down in the core of what we believe in. Simple box outs, simple defensive plays - sometimes when you get yourself in a rut it's hard to get out of it," Jeter said. "Clearly we're in one of those where we have to figure out how to get out of it."

UWM returns to action Friday night, hosting Northern Illinois in a 7 p.m. contest at the Klotsche Center.
