Panthers Will Face Valpo In Semis Saturday After Crusaders Down Detroit

MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball team will face Valparaiso in a Horizon League Men's Basketball Tournament semifinal Saturday night at the U.S. Cellular Arena after the Crusaders knocked off Detroit in a second round game Friday.
Brandon Wood scored 30 points to lead Valpo to an 88-78 win over Detroit. The Crusaders (23-10) made 15 three-pointers in the win, which saw them overcome an early eight-point deficit.
Ryan Broekhoff added 13 points and Cory Johnson 11 for Valparaiso, which split with top-seeded Milwaukee (18-12) during the regular season.
Saturday's game will tipoff at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available through all Milwaukee-area Ticketmaster outlets and then will be available at the U.S. Cellular Arena Box Office prior to the game. Plus, UWM students who don't yet have tickets for the game can purchase their special $10 tickets at the door Saturday night. All students will receive a t-shirt commemorating Milwaukee's Horizon League regular season championship.
In Friday's early second round contest, Cleveland State broke open a tight game to claim a 73-59 victory over Wright State. The Vikings (26-7) will face second-seeded Butler at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Four players reached double figures for CSU, led by 16 points by Jeremy Montgomery. The Vikings' defense also limited the Raiders (19-14) to just 36.2 percent shooting from the field.
