Milwaukee Basketball Golf Classic Set For July 16

April 19, 2012

MILWAUKEE - This year's Milwaukee Basketball Golf Classic is set for July 16 at the North Shore Country Club in Mequon.

The annual event provides additional financial support for the Milwaukee men's basketball program.

The event provides an opportunity for supporters to enjoy a great day of golf, meet the players and coaches, win fantastic prizes and bid on exciting auction items.

This year's golf outing will feature a chance to win one of three great sports trips. Fans can enter a raffle to win a trip to the 2013 Final Four, with tickets on sale throughout the weeks leading up to the outing. Then, fans can bid in a silent auction to claim a trip to either the 2013 Masters or the 2013 Kentucky Derby. Raffle tickets are $25 apiece or three for $50.

Other prizes available at the outing include "Travel With The Panthers" packages, autographed merchandise, the chance to be a guest color analyst on the radio with Bill Johnson, game tickets and pro shop apparel.

To sign up for the event, call Chip MacKenzie at 414-229-5175.

The event starts with registration at 10 a.m. and lunch at 10:45. Golf begins at noon with dinner, the auction and program starting at approximately 5 p.m.

Individual golfers can take part in the event for just $325 while a foursome can participate for $1200. Sponsorships from $500 to $3000 are also available. Plus, fans can attend only the dinner and auction part of the day for $50.

North Shore Country Club is considered one of the finest private golf courses in Wisconsin. Its 27-hole setup provides ample space for the event, while the club's practice range and putting green are available to Golf Classic participants prior to the shotgun start. The men's and women's clubhouses are also available to players in the event.

NSCC was founded in 1920 as the Michiwaukee Golf Club, with a golf course and clubhouse on Fairy Chasm Road in Bayside. In 1935, the name was changed to North Shore Country Club. Unable to expand at the Bayside site, in 1964 the Club entered an agreement to exchange its current golf course for 215 acres in Mequon.

The club is located at 3100 W. Country Club Drive in Mequon. Exit I-43 at Mequon Rd. and head west to Range Line Road. Turn left, follow to Country Club Road, and then turn right toward the club entrance.
