Aug. 23, 2012
MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball team now knows its slate of games for the 2013 Horizon League season.
The league announced its schedule today, though regional and national television schedules are not yet set. The Panthers' full schedule is being finalized and will be announced in the coming weeks.
UWM will open the league schedule on the road at league tournament champion Detroit Jan. 3. The regular season concludes with a Tuesday night game at Green Bay (Feb. 26).
The Panthers' first league home game is Jan. 12 against defending regular season champion Valparaiso. Green Bay visits the Klotsche Center Jan. 25 while Detroit comes to campus Feb. 7.
The league will again play a full round-robin schedule, with each school playing 16 games. The league tournament will follow a similar format as in past seasons, with the regular season champion hosting the bulk of the postseason gathering.
Milwaukee heads into the 2012-13 season returning three starters and eight letterwinners from a team that won 20 games and played in the College Basketball Invitational.
With the 2012-13 schedule now coming together, this is a great time to purchase season tickets for the upcoming year.
