Milwaukee 3; Marquette 2
Sept. 13, 2006
-Milwaukee improves to 25-7-2 in the all-time series with Marquette. They keep possession of the Milwaukee Cup for the third-straight season and have won five of the past six head-to-head contests.
-The record crowd of 3,256 topped the old record of 2,250 (set Sept. 3, 1990 versus Evansville) by over 1,000 and was just the third-ever crowd to surpass the 2,000 level at Engelmann.
-The Panthers two goals in a 2:23 span continued a recent trend for Marquette. It was the third straight match that MU had surrendered consecutive goals in under four minutes.
-Milwaukee has now given up nine goals on the season and eight of them have come on opponent corner kicks or free kicks. Both goals tonight were scored on set pieces.
-The 13 corner kicks was easily a season-high. The previous best was six versus IPFW Sept. 1.
-Senior Eric Mickschl made his first start of the season in goal. The victory was the 19th of his UWM career, tying Jason Balistrieri for ninth all-time.
