April 19, 2012
MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer program has announced the dates of its summer "College Prep Camp" that will be held at Engelmann Stadium. The camp, available to boys ages 15 and older, will run for two days from June 9-10, 2012.
"Over the past couple of years our College Prep I.D Camp has been very successful, with several former campers earning Division I scholarships as a result of their experience at our prep camp," Milwaukee assistant coach Ben Shepherd said. "Just this past year, more than six campers signed National Letters of Intent with Division I or Division II institutions."
The cost of the camp is $185 and will run over the course of the two days. The times on June 9th will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the times the following day will run 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The camp is for boys 15 and older, but no college, junior college or technical college students are eligible to participate. The camp focuses on the development of the serious soccer player. There is a strong emphasis on the technical, tactical and physical aspects of the game.
"We also invite in other university coaches from around the region, which gives every player at the camp the opportunity to be looked at and evaluated by a number of different programs," Shepherd said.
