MILWAUKEE - Tod Herskovitz and Mark Litton have been named members of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer coaching staff, head coach Kris Kelderman announced today. Herskovitz will serve as an assistant coach and Litton will return in his role as a volunteer goalkeeper coach.

"I am excited about the addition of both Tod and Mark," Kelderman said. "I am proud to say that by adding these two guys, we are completing our staff with people who have a professional background as a player and as a coach."

Herskovitz had been serving as the head coach of the Minnesota Thunder Academy and had been a member of the MTA staff since its inception. He brings a wealth of experience to the staff, both on the coaching and playing levels. He served as an assistant coach for the Minnesota Thunder for more than two years and was involved with youth clubs as a coach with the St. Paul Blackhawks and MTA.

"Todd has played and coached at the professional level," Kelderman said. "He also has the experience of playing at Maryland. So not only has he played and coached at the professional level, but he has played collegiately at the highest level as well."

As a player, he spent time with the Milwaukee Rampage and the Minnesota Thunder as a professional. That followed a decorated collegiate playing career, playing his final two seasons at the University of Maryland where he was a two-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference and a Herman Trophy finalist as a senior. He spent his first two seasons of college soccer at the University of Hartford, earning a pair of All-New England team selections.

Litton served the same role at UWM a year ago. He is a former goalkeeper with the Milwaukee Wave, having been with the team from 1989 through 1994. He was also the starting goalkeeper at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside from 1986-88. Named NAIA All-American as a goalkeeper in 1988, he was inducted into the Parkside Athletic Hall of Fame in October of 2010.

"Mark will specialize with our goalkeepers once again," Kelderman said. "Being the assistant with the Milwaukee Wave, he brings a wealth of experience. It's important to me that the environment that myself and my staff provide is professionally run, both as far as the activities we provide and the organization."

Litton recently concluded eight combined seasons as the keeper coach for the Parkside men's soccer team. He is also the current keeper coach with the Milwaukee Wave, having helped the team win MISL Championships in 2005, 2011 and 2012. In 2008, Mark accompanied the U.S. National Futsal team as their keeper coach to the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Brazil.
