Bell Named To Capital One Academic All-District Soccer Team
Nov. 1, 2012
MILWAUKEE - Sophomore Laurie Bell of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer team has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Soccer Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced Thursday.
Bell continues to be among the Horizon League leaders in points (third with 18), goals (tied for second with seven) and assists (tied for fourth with four, just one off the league lead) following UWM's last outing. In fact, Bell was honored by the Horizon League office Oct. 8 with his second league "Player of the Week" award in 2012.
He carries a 3.59 GPA in the classroom as an English/journalism major.
As a member of the Capital One All-District First Team in District 6, Bell will move on to the national ballot later this month. He is also the only player in the district from the Horizon League to earn the distinction. The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
