Horizon League Tournament Field Set For Men's Soccer

MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer team will be the second seed in the 2013 Horizon League Championship and have earned a first-round bye into the semifinals this weekend.
The Panthers finished 5-2-0 in the Horizon League, accumulating 15 points in the league standings. Courtesy of their 5-0 victory over Cleveland State Saturday, UWM moved up a spot from third and secured the No. 2 seed.
UIC finished 7-0-0 (21 points) and will host the semifinals and finals this weekend. League newcomer Oakland went 4-2-1 (13 points) and is the third seed. The Golden Grizzlies will host the quarterfinal round at OU Soccer Field.
Cleveland State was 3-4-0 (9 points) and enters this year as the No. 4 seed. Winning the tie-breaker over Wright State, the Vikings will host their quarterfinal matchup Tuesday night against the Raiders, who also went 3-4-0.
At 2-3-2, Valparaiso (8 points) earned the final spot of the championship with its shutout win over Detroit to edge out Green Bay by one point and will play at Oakland in the first round.
The Panthers will take on the highest remaining seed from the quarterfinals in their first game and are currently scheduled to play in the 7 p.m. contest Friday, with the Flames set to play at 4 p.m.
