Missed the first half of the season due to a problem regarding his school transcripts...made his debut at the Bill Ritter Invitational and finished first in the 100 and 200 backstroke and finished third in the 100 butterfly...set a new school and freshman record, as well as a career-best in the 200 backstroke at the Horizon League Championships with a time of 1:51.00...also finished third in the 100 back at the league meet with a new personal best... was named the league's Newcomer of the Year.
