Brittany Sayler Position: Assistant Coach Experience: Third Season Alma Mater: Ball State, 2008

Brittany Sayler is in her third season as assistant coach for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee swimming & diving team and has already helped lead the Panthers to unprecedented heights.

After just two years at Milwaukee, Sayler has helped Milwaukee to two league championships on the men's side, one league crown with the women's team and countless individual records and accomplishments.

"I feel very fortunate to have Brittany a part of the staff," UWM head coach Kyle Clements said. "There were many different attributes that I was in search of when I was looking for a new assistant and Brittany meets all of them. There is much to be said about all of her accomplishments in and out of the pool. But, the drive, demeanor and personality that she brings to this program could never be overstated. She is an intricate part of the forward progress of this program. It was only a matter of time before Brittany found her way back into college swimming and we feel that we are very luck to have her."

Last season was truly a memorable one for Milwaukee. The Panthers won both Horizon League titles and broke 17 school records 30 different times. That Panther team also set six new league records, five Klotsche Natatorium records and three freshman records to cap the incredible campaign.

UWM also had its second-ever showing at the NCAA Championships. Sayler helped Milwaukee swimmer Emily McClellan record the Horizon League's first ever 'A' cut times to earn an automatic berth to Nationals. McClellan was also one of three Panthers to swim at this past summer's U.S. Olympic Trials, just missing a trip to London after an incredible sixth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke.

Sayler came to Milwaukee after serving as the Aquatics Director at Frankfort High School in Frankfort, Ind., and eight seasons with the Sugar Creek Swim Club in Crawfordsville, Ind.

Before her time with the Panthers, Sayler started a satellite program over her final two seasons with the USA Swimming club. As the head coach, she worked with athletes ranging in age from six-to-21, from beginning swimmers to national-qualifying athletes.

In 2007, she also served as the assistant coach for both the boys and girls swimming and diving programs at Frankfort High School, in Frankfort, Ind. She helped the boys to a first-place showing in conference that initial season and was hired on as the head coach following graduation from Ball State University. In her tenure, multiple records were broken and, in February of 2010, she was named Coach of the Year for the West Lafayette Boys Sectional.

A four-year swimmer at Ball State, Sayler qualified for the 2006 U.S. Open in the 100 and 200 backstroke. The team co-captain as a senior, she twice earned Mid-American Conference Academic All-Team honors and was nominated MAC Senior of the Year. In addition to claiming all-league second-team honors on two occasions, she broke school records in both backstroke events and was named the team's Most Outstanding Freshman her first season. Following her four years in the pool, she worked a season as the student assistant at Ball State.
