Feb. 21, 2012
MILWAUKEE - Senior Matt Jensen and junior Durell Busby of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's track & field team were named Horizon League Track & Field Athletes of the Week, the league office announced this morning. This is the third time Busby has been named track athlete of the week, while Jensen's honor is a career-first. Busby continued his scorching start to the 2012 season, breaking his own school record in the 60m hurdles for the third time this season at the UWM Panther Tune-Up. The junior finished the event on Friday with a time of 7.79 seconds, now placing him 18th in the nation. Jensen also had a career day Friday. The Sauk City, Wis. native took first in weight throw with a personal-record toss of 57-0 1/4 (17.38m). That mark now stands second all-time in UWM history. Jensen also set a new personal record in shot put, clearing 46-7 1/2 (14.21m) to take second. The Panthers head to Youngstown State this weekend for the Horizon League Indoor Championships. The two-day meet is set to get underway Saturday and wrap up Sunday afternoon.
