MILWAUKEE, Wis. (April 19, 2011) - Ben Crogan of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's track and field team has been named the Horizon League Field Athlete of the Week for April 18, the league office announced today.

Crogan earns the honor after breaking his own school record in the pole vault last weekend.

Competing at Purdue's Dave Rankin Invitational last weekend, Crogan cleared 16-10 3/4 to reset his previous school record of 16-0 3/4 by 10 inches. After clearing 15-9 on his first try, he broke the record with heights of 16-2 3/4 and 16-6 3/4, both on his first attempt, before finishing at his new record. That height also came on his first attempt.

Crogan and the Panthers return to action this weekend at the PolyTan Invitational, Thursday through Saturday in Bloomington, Ind.
