Peoria, Ill. - Jake Reilly continued his outstanding junior year by finishing fourth out of 188 runners to lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to an eighth-place finish at the Bradley Classic in Peoria, Ill. Friday afternoon.

Reilly finished in the top five for the third time this season, running in a time of 24:59.2, taking nearly forty seconds off his time from the same race one year ago and a mere two seconds shy of third place on the day.

As a team, Milwaukee finished with 242 points, placing them eighth overall out of the 19-team event and just ahead of conference-rival Butler (259) and host Bradley (265). Drake University won the meet with 76 points.

"That was an outstanding performance by our team," UWM head coach Pete Corfeld said. "We're very pleased with today's results.

"We had some guys really step it up and then Jake, that was about as smooth as I've ever seen him run. He was on the move, hunting guys down. As a whole, this was a really nice setup going into the Horizon League Championships."

Junior Bobby Glotfelty continued to improve his season times, finishing in 25:55.5 for 38th overall. That time marks his best on the year, the third-straight race in which he has done so.

Sophomore Sam Leschisin ran the best time of his career by more than one minute to take third for the Panthers. His time of 26:20.3 was a career-best for an 8000m course and was good enough for 57th in the large field.

Senior Ryan Baumgartner and freshman Louis Glotfelty rounded out the scoring for the Panthers, with Baumgartner taking 63rd in 26:22.5 and Glotfelty finishing with a season-best time of 26:42.7 for 80th.

Alex Francis continued the team theme by running a career-best time of 27:00.6 to take 89th while senior Thomas Wells battled an injury to finish just behind in 27:14.5.

Junior John Mariani also competed for Milwaukee, running with a time of 28 minutes, 39.5 seconds.

The Panthers have a two-week break before returning to action at the Horizon League Championships hosted by Cleveland State Saturday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m.
