MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's and women's cross country teams head to the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Friday, traveling to Madison, Wis. for the big meet. The action at the Thomas Zimmer Championships Course gets underway at noon with the women's 6K followed by the men's 10K at 1:15 p.m.

SCOUTING THE MEET
Milwaukee will see some familiar opponents at this year's regional meet. Fellow Horizon League members Cleveland State, Detroit and Green Bay all also will be running in Madison this weekend. Former league member Butler and cross-town rival Marquette will also toe the line with the Panthers Friday.

LAST TIME OUT
Milwaukee has improved every time out this season and that was no different two weeks ago as it hosted the Horizon League Championships.

On the men's side, senior Jake Reilly took third overall and four other Panthers recorded personal records on a tough course as UWM finished third in the league with 90 points.

The Panthers women also had a strong showing at the league meet, led by junior Sammy Woller. Woller grabbed Second-Team All-League honors after finishing 13th overall and 10 Milwaukee runners posted PRs on the day to help UWM to a sixth-place finish.

LEAGUE NOTICE
For the third time this season, senior Jake Reilly was named Horizon League Men's Runner of the Week after his last race.

Reilly won the award after taking 17th and placing as the Horizon League's top runner at the Bradley Classic. He posted a new personal-record time of 24:57 at the large meet.

Reilly also won the award on Oct. 1 after taking an outstanding fourth overall and third among collegiate student-athletes out of more than 350 competitors at the Louisville Classic, and again on Sept. 10 after winning the Midwest Collegiate Open going away with a time of 25:51.8, a full 30 seconds in front of the next runner.
