Panthers Add State Prep Standout To Roster For Next Season
June 5, 2012
MILWAUKEE - Jordyn Swan of Pewaukee has signed to play basketball at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, women's basketball head coach Kyle Rechlicz announced today. Swan, the Woodland Blue Division Player of the Year as a senior, averaged 17.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game for Pewaukee. She shot 44 percent from the field, including 53 percent from two-point range. The Associated Press All-State honoree and two-time team captain earned unanimous WBCA D2 All-State accolades in addition to second-team all-area and first-team all-league selections. "We couldn't be more thrilled with the addition of Jordyn to our already talented roster," Rechlicz said. "Her ability to score on the perimeter, along with her size, will put her in a position to fight for time early on her in career. Along with her skill, she brings a confident mentality to the game and is an intense competitor, which is the direction I want our entire team to head in." As a junior, Swan led her team to a 22-2 record, averaging 15.6 points and 4.8 rebounds, earning a spot on the WBCA First-Team All-State squad in addition to unanimous First-Team All-Woodland Blue Conference honors. She was also tabbed First-Team All-Area by the Lake County Reporter and Waukesha Freeman. That followed a sophomore campaign in which she was named first-team all-league and third-team all-county. The four-year varsity player finished her prep career as Pewaukee's all-time scorer and helped her squad to a pair of conference titles.
