MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Sept. 29, 2010) - Cameron Tucker has been promoted to an assistant coach with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's basketball team, head coach Sandy Botham announced today.

Tucker has spent the last two seasons on staff as video coordinator. He is the latest staff addition, following the hires of Kevin McManaman and Heather Morris earlier this off-season.

"We are thrilled for Cameron to get this opportunity," Botham said. "He has worked tremendously hard these last two years and is very deserving of this position. He has a great basketball background and is really excited to get out there and share his knowledge of the game of basketball. He knows the system and he knows our players, so it's a natural fit."

In his previous position, Tucker was in charge of all film exchange, editing and game breakdown for scouting and highlight video purposes.

Tucker joined the Panther staff after serving as an assistant coach at Warner University during the second half of the 2007-08 season. With the Royals, he helped with recruiting, game preparation, team practices, individual workouts and summer camps.

Tucker attended the University of Iowa for two years and was a team manager with the men's basketball team for two seasons. He then transferred to Ball State, where he was the team's video coordinator until his graduation in 2007 with a degree in history.

In addition to his position at Warner, Tucker has also gained coaching experience with a variety of teams and age groups. He served as a student assistant at New Castle Chrysler High School, helping the team to the 2003 Class 4A Elite Eight, and also coached club basketball with the Henry County Heat. His team won the 2002 USSSA National Championship (age 13 and under) and a 2001 Gym Rats state championship (age 12 and under).
