Kane Named To Soccer America All-Freshman First Team
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Jan. 27, 2006) - Freshmen goalkeeper Erin Kane of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team was named to the Soccer America Freshman All-America First Team, the magazine announced following the 2005 season.
Kane was also named to the All-Freshman Third Team by Soccer Buzz earlier this off-season.
Kane posted the best season by a Milwaukee keeper in team history as just a freshman. She set school records with 13 shutouts and a 0.58 goals against average, finishing 15th in the nation in GAA and establishing a league record for shutouts. Kane started 21 games in goal, played over 2000 minutes and posted an 11-5-5 record. She also posted a shutout streak of over 714 minutes, the 14th-longest streak in NCAA Division I history.
Among the other honors for the first-year keeper were Horizon League All-League First Team, League Tournament MVP and League Player of the Week three times.
