MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Oct. 8, 2012) - Hannah Kaul of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team has been named the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced today.

The award is the first weekly honor of Kaul's career and comes on the heels of a 1-0 win at Valparaiso last week.

The Fredonia, Wis., native played all 90 minutes at central defender and helped limit the Crusader offense to just eight shots in the match and just one on goal. Kaul has started all 11 games this season and has now aided in four shutouts.

Milwaukee returns to action this week, hosting Loyola Wednesday at Engelmann Stadium.
