MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Junior Elizabeth Chudy has been named this week's Horizon League Player of the Week, the league office announced today. It is the third honor of her career and she is the third member of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team to earn it in as many weeks.

On Sunday, Chudy made her mark by scoring the golden goal in the 99th minute of the Panthers' 2-1 win over Detroit. The win clinched Milwaukee's fifth-straight regular season league championship. After a cross into the box was nearly cleared, Chudy one-timed a shot, far-post, for the game-winner.

As the third straight UWM player to win the honor, Chudy follows sophomore Stacey Faude (Oct. 18) and senior Kerri St. Aubin (Oct. 11). St. Aubin has won the honor twice this season (Sept. 27), bringing the Panthers' total to four player of the week honorees in 2004.

Milwaukee closes out its regular season hosting Purdue University on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Engelmann Field. The match is UWM's final tune up before the Horizon League Tournament, Nov. 4-7, in Indianapolis, Ind. Kick off is set for 2 p.m.
