Panthers Set To Host Horizon League Women's Soccer Championship
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Oct. 30, 2011) - The No. 15 University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team will host the 2011 Horizon League Championship Nov. 4-6 at Engelmann Stadium.
The top-seeded Panthers will have a bye into the semifinals and take on the lowest-remaining seed to advance out of Tuesday's quarterfinal matches. Detroit (5-2-1) has the league's other bye.
Now that the field is set for the tournament, times have now been announced. Milwaukee's semifinal match will be at 7 p.m. Friday, while Detroit will play its semifinal match at 4 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday.
Tuesday's quarterfinal matches include sixth-seeded Butler (3-5) at No. 3 Valparaiso (4-2-2). No. 4 Cleveland State (3-3-2) will host No. 5 Wright State (3-3-2).
The Panthers are three-time defending league tournament champion, winning last year's title with a 5-0 win at Butler.
