VALPARAISO, Ind. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's swimming & diving team extended its dual-win streak to 11-straight Saturday afternoon, topping Valparaiso University by a final score of 159-64 in a Horizon League dual meet.

Freshman Sarah Wardecke led the way with two individual victories and seven others also claimed individual wins to help the Panthers top the Crusaders for the 14th-straight time in the all-times series.

"We had a couple of people step up for us today in certain events that they don't normally swim," UWM head coach Erica Janssen said. "It wasn't the prettiest day, but a win is a win, and we will take it. Ellie Gross had a nice day in the pool and Kelsey George did a nice job in diving. We have been training very hard and are using this as a final tune-up before heading to the invitational in Minnesota early next month."

Wardecke was strong again, winning the 50 freestyle in a time of 25.00 while also topping the field in the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.92.

In addition to Wardecke, seniors Molly Finn and Kristina Hansen, junior Jenny Westfall, sophomore Danielle Wenger, sophomores Ellie Gross and Kelsey George, freshman Danielle Chapman and the 200 free relay all recorded wins at the meet.

Finn topped the field in the 200 IM in a time of 2:14.64 and also came in second in the 100 backstroke in 1:03.29. She touched-out junior Bailey Nennig in the 200 IM, as Nennig was right behind in 2:14.97.

Hansen edged out Finn in the 100 back, touching the wall in a time of 1:03.09. Westfall won the 1000 freestyle, heading a 1-2-3 finish for UWM in the event. In addition to Westfall, junior Alex Nelson was second (11:06.53) and senior Kelsey McDonough was third in 11:08.17.

Wenger also topped a 1-2-3 Milwaukee finish in the 200 freestyle, winning in 1:59.86. Freshman Heidi Niespodzany was second (2:02.37) and sophomore Kelsey Ogle third (2:03.74). Wenger also chipped in with a second-place showing in the 500 free in 5:17.93.
