Kalinowski And McClellan Honored By Horizon League

MILWAUKEE - Senior Jake Kalinowski and freshman Emily McClellan have been selected as the male and female Horizon League Swimmer of the Week, the league office announced earlier today. The league honor is the third of Kalinowski's career and the second of the season for each.
Kalinowski, who was also honored Nov. 16, had am impressive showing at the Hawkeye Invitational, placing third with season-best times in the 50 freestyle (20.55 including 20.46 in prelims), 100 freestyle (44.84) and 200 freestyle (1:39.53) against fields of 40 or more in each race, from schools such as Iowa, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Ohio State and Denver.
He also led the 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 800 freestyle and 400 medley relay teams to season-best times.
McClellan, who also won the award Oct. 11, also posted season-best times in each of her races. She set a meet record in the prelims of the 100 breaststroke before lowering her own freshman record in the event in the finals where she placed second out of 32 swimmers in 1:02.99. She touched the wall in 2:19.01 to take fourth out of 30 in the 200 breast and also went 2:09.04 in the 200 IM.
In addition, she helped the 200 and 400 medley relay teams to season-best times as well.
