MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to DePaul Friday night in the Panthers' home opener for the 2013 spring season.

The Blue Demons claimed the doubles point with a pair of convincing victories and then swept through all six singles contests.

DePaul is ranked among the top 70 teams in the country and has a pair of players ranked in the top 120 nationally.

"DePaul is obviously a very deep and talented team," Milwaukee head coach Sean McInerney said. "We have been working all week on competing harder, becoming more consistent and having better shot selection, and we clearly did all three things this match. Even though we were beaten I think we took a big step forward and showed a lot of improvement over our opening weekend. I am looking forward to competing against Marquette on Sunday."

The match against Marquette will take place at the Helfaer Tennis Center at 10 a.m.
