MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Dana Shannon won her singles flight, three other players won singles contests and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's top doubles team claimed third place in the top flight on the final day of the Gopher Invitational.

Shannon, playing her first weekend of collegiate tennis, captured the singles crown of the Gopher Flight with a 1-6, 6-2, 7-5 win over Marcelli Magday of Air Force. In all, the freshman went 4-0 in singles play.

Brittany Skemp captured third place in the same bracket with a 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (3) victory over Daphne Freidrichs of Eastern Michigan.

Maddy Soule and Kristin Kurer also captured singles contests.

In doubles play, Soule and Christina Colarossi won their final match in the top flight, knocking off a duo from Minnesota, 8-6.

The Panthers return to action in two weeks at the DePaul Invitational.
