Tokar Named First-Team All-Horizon League
April 25, 2014
MILWAUKEE - Freshman Diana Tokar of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee tennis team was named to the elite First-Team All-Horizon League when the full list of awards was presented Thursday night.
Tokar was consistently one of the top players in the conference throughout the season, helping Milwaukee win a share of its first Horizon League Championship in program history.
In singles play, Tokar was dominant all season long. Playing in the top flight nearly all season, the freshman went 12-7 overall, including an outstanding 7-1 mark against league foes.
This marks the fourth-straight year Milwaukee has had at least one player earn first-team all-league honors, by far the longest stretch in program history.
Milwaukee now heads to the Horizon League Tournament where it is the No. 2 seed. The Panthers will play Saturday at 11 a.m. against the winner of three-seed Youngstown State and sixth-seeded Wright State.
