Panthers Continue Fall Slate At Whitewater
Sept. 12, 2007
MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team continues its fall schedule with a pair of contests Saturday. UWM will take on UW-River Falls at noon in Whitewater before squaring off with the host Warhawks at 4 p.m. The contests will be the first two dual matches of the year for Milwaukee, which won a school-record 13 duals last season. The Panthers got their fall schedule off to a solid start at the Bradley Invitational this past weekend. Freshman Jenna Felsher won three of four singles contests while freshmen Martina Schnapp and Sammi Schoen each won two matches apiece. In doubles play, Schnapp and Schoen teamed up for two wins. UW-River Falls is off to a 4-0 start entering a match Friday at Ripon. The Falcons finished 6-7 last season, including a 2-4 mark in the WIAC. Meanwhile, UW-Whitewater is 3-1 on the young season and also claimed first-place at its own Whitewater Invitational this past weekend. The Warhawks went 17-10 last year and had four different players win at least 20 singles matches. After this weekend's action, the remainder of UWM's fall schedule involves tournament play. The Panthers play at the Ball State Invitational in late September before playing at the Western Illinois Invitational in early October.
