Ganser Signs Letter Of Intent To Join Tennis Team

Standout from Jefferson High School coming to UWM

Nov. 19, 2008

MILWAUKEE - Beth Ganser of Johnson Creek, Wis., has signed a national letter of intent to play tennis at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, head coach Matt McCaskill announced today.

Ganser is a four-time state qualifier from Division 2 Jefferson High School, sporting an overall high school record of 104-23.

She finished third in the state as a sophomore before moving up to second in the state as both a junior and senior. She was also a regular on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel all-area team during her high school career and claimed multiple honors from the Rock Valley Conference.

Ganser is also a standout in basketball, earning all-conference honors after both her sophomore and junior seasons.

Plus, she has excelled in the classroom, ranking ninth in her class.

"Beth is a great athlete who has never played tennis year-round," McCaskill said. "She is a proven winner who should only improve in a competitive environment. There was no way we could pass on the opportunity to have her join us and we are very happy that she will continue her career in Milwaukee."
