B.J. Parish is in his third year as a volunteer assistant with the Milwaukee track and field teams. He will work with the Panther throwers.

Parish comes to UWM after completing one season as a volunteer assistant at his alma mater, Arkansas State.

Parish competed for ASU from 2003-08, capping his career with a standout senior season. He won both Sun Belt Conference titles in the heptathlon indoors and the decathlon outdoors, setting conference records in both events. He also qualified for the NCAA Championships his senior season, taking 15th.

The Mavern, Ark., native also holds the distinction of being the last ASU athlete to compete as an "Indian" before the University changed its nickname to the Redwolves.

Parish graduated from Arkansas State in 2008 with his degree in physical education and health. He married former Panther Jenni Saarinen in 2009. The couple resides in Milwaukee.
