Fisher Breaks School 600m Record At Edmonds Cup
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Jan. 28, 2006) - Senior Tenia Fisher broke the school record in the 600m to lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's track and field team in action at the Edmonds Cup, Saturday afternoon in West Lafayette, Ind. The Panthers did not register a team score at Purdue's meet. Fisher ran a time of 1:33.56 to take second in the event, being edged by just 0.10 seconds for first. She now holds the school records in the 400m, 600m and 800m. The previous mark was 1:33.89, set by Lauri Nowakowski in 1987. In the 800m, senior Griffin McNulty finished third in a tight race. Her time of 2:16.84 was 0.12 seconds out of second and 1.76 second behind the top finisher. Senior Timeka Walker and sophomore Angie Huebner also posted fourth-places for UWM. Walker finished the 60m in 7.82, while Huebner crossed the line in the 3000 in 10:12.54. Milwaukee returns to action Feb. 3 at the Northern Iowa Classic in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
