Two Panthers Crack All-Time Top 10 At Meyo Invite
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (Feb. 4, 2011) - Moriah Myles had the third-best weight throw in school history and Simbi Laaro ran the 10th-fastest 60m time to highlight the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's track and field team's performance on the first day of Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational, Friday evening. Myles, who entered the meet with the team's best shot put throw this season, tossed 47-7 3/4 for 26th place in the event. Primarily a multi-event athlete last season as a freshman, she is now third in school history in the event with that throw. Meanwhile, Laaro ran a time of 7.84 in the preliminaries of the 60m. She took 22nd, but jumped onto Milwaukee's all-time leaderboard in 10th place. Reigna Pierce had the team's top finish on the day, taking 12th in the long jump with a leap of 18-9 1/4. The Meyo Invitational wraps up Saturday.
