Terre Haute, Ind. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's track & field team posted three season-best marks while competing in just four events in the first day of action at the Pacesetter Quadrangular hosted by Indiana State University at Marks Field Friday.

After just five total events, Milwaukee currently sits in fourth with 26 points. Host Indiana State and Southern Illinois are tied in first with 60 points and Butler is in third with 29.

Junior Moriah Myles improved on her second-place standing in UWM history with a toss of 175-1 (53.37m) to take sixth in hammer throw. That mark is nearly 10 feet further than her previous best and is behind only teammate Nancy Harmon for the school's top mark. Harmon finished eighth in the event at 165-7 (50.48m) to also score for the Panthers.

Myles also led the way for Milwaukee in shot put, tallying a season-best mark of 41-8 3/4 (12.72m). Junior Brittany Alsum also scored for Milwaukee with a heave of 34-0 1/4 (10.37m) for 13th.

Junior Samia Taylor also recorded a season best, clearing 18-9 3/4 (5.73m) in long jump to take third overall. That mark just missed the school's all-time top-10 performances list. Senior Shelby Schaal was just behind in fifth with a leap of 18-1 3/4 (5.53m).

In UWM's only running event of the day, freshman Sammy Woller was Milwaukee's top finisher in the 5000m with a time of 18:43.32 in her first time competing in the event on the season. Sophomore Emily Hamilton also scored, crossing the line in 19:51.06.
