DES MOINES, Iowa (April 29, 2006) - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's track and field team broke the school 4x100m shuttle hurdle record to highlight the final day of competition at the prestigious Drake Relays Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa. The group's third-place finish is Milwaukee's highest finish by a relay ever. UWM also competed in the 1600m sprint medley, completing the distance in 4:08.93 for 18th place. Seniors Tenia Fisher and Iris Perez, junior Timeka Walker and sophomore Buttchen combined on the relay, which is the fifth-best time in school history. Some Panthers will return to action next weekend at the Billy Hayes Invitational, May 5, in Bloomington, Ind., while the rest of the team will be in action at the Wisconsin Twilight the next day in Madison, Wis. The weekend is Milwaukee's final tune up before the Horizon League Championships, May 11-12 in Indianapolis, Ind.
