MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Feb. 4, 2009) - Junior Kelsey Conrad of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's track and field team has been named the Horizon League Track Athlete of the Week for Feb. 2, the league office announced today.

This is the second-straight meet after which a Panther has earned a weekly award from the league office. Junior Jamie Woods was the league's field athlete of the week for Jan. 19 following the Badger Track Classic.

Conrad was victorious in the 400m and ran with the first-place 4x400m relay at the Wisconsin Elite Invitational last weekend in Madison. She ran a time of 57.00 in winning the 400m. Then, with the 4x400m relay, she collaborated on a time of 3:52.04 for the win.

Milwaukee is back in action this weekend, traveling to South Bend, Ind., for the Mayo Invitational Saturday.
