MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Feb. 10, 2010) - Freshman Samia Taylor of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's track and field team was named the Horizon League Field Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 8.

This is the second weekly honor for Taylor over the first four weeks of her first collegiate season. She was also honored for the week of Jan. 25 after tying the school triple jump record (39-9 3/4) vs. Marquette.

Last weekend, Taylor was Milwaukee's top finisher at Notre Dame's Mayo Invitational. She took seventh in the triple jump, with her top leap of 39-5.

Taylor and the Panthers return to action this weekend at the Iowa State Cyclone Classic in Ames, Iowa. The meet gets underway with the start of combined events on Thursday and continues through Saturday.
