Panthers Wrap Indoor Season At Iowa State
AMES, Iowa (March 5, 2011) - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up the 2011 indoor season, competing at Iowa State's NCAA Qualifier Saturday. Samia Taylor posted the team's top finish, leaping 39-6 for second in the triple jump. She was joined in the event by Reigna Pierce, who was fourth at 38-9 3/4. Pierce also competed in the long jump, leaping 19-0 for fourth. Durell Busby paced the men's side, taking third in the 60m hurdles. He ran a time of 8.09 on the day. Garrett Vetesnik tied for third in the pole vault, clearing 15-11. Ben Crogan also cleared that height, but was fifth based on attempts. Erin Havener cleared 12-1 1/2 in the women's pole vault, taking seventh. Also competing at the meet was Nick Hughes in the high jump. He cleared a height of 6-5 for fourth. With the indoor season complete, the Panthers turn their focus to the outdoor campaign, which gets underway March 26 at the SIU Edwardsville Quad meet.
