MILWAUKEE, Wis. (April 5, 2011) - Samia Taylor of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee was named the Horizon League Field Athlete of the Week for April 4, the league office announced today.

Taylor was honored after her performance at the Big Blue Classic last weekend in Charleston, Ill. The meet served as the outdoor season-opener for Milwaukee. The honor is the third of the year for the Madison, Wis., native who picked up the honor twice during the indoor season.

Taylor won the triple jump, took fourth in the long jump and ran with the third-place 4x100m relay last weekend. She leapt 40-0 1/2 in winning the triple jump and cleared 18-2 1/4 in the long jump event. She also contributed to a time of 49.17 in the relay.

Taylor and the Panthers are back in action this weekend, heading to the Calhoun Invitational Friday and Saturday in Macomb, Ill.
