MILWAUKEE, Wis. (April 15, 2009) - Juniors Kelsey Conrad and Erin Havener of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's track and field team have swept the Horizon League Athlete of the Week awards for April 13, the league office announced today.

Conrad was named the league's track athlete of the week for the fourth time in 2009, while Havener picked up her second league field athlete of the week honor.

Despite the Panthers falling at Marquette, 104-83, Conrad was unbeatable, winning the 100m and 200m, while running with first-place relays in the 4x100m and 4x400m events. Her time of 11.86 in the 100m is a personal best and fourth in school history. Meanwhile, she ran a PR of 24.45 in the 200m, a time which is third in school history. The 4x100m relay finished in 49.03, while the 4x400m relay collaborated on a time of 4:05.96.

Havener competed in just one event, but won it by nearly a half foot. She cleared a final height of 12-0 in the pole vault to top the event by 5 3/4 inches.

Milwaukee returns to action this weekend at the Dave Rankin Invitational Saturday. The squad was initially scheduled to compete at the Indiana Invitational, but have elected to return to the Purdue event for the second-straight year.
