Bucholz Wins 400m At Mt. SAC Relays
WALNUT, Calif. (April 16, 2010) - Senior Tyler Bucholz won the open 400m in school-record fashion to lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's and women's track and field team at the Mt. SAC Relays Friday. Bucholz completed the race in 47.09 to win the division and eclipse former teammate Isaiah Adams' school record. Adams held the school record of 47.11, set in winning the 2009 league outdoor championship. Senior Quinn Mongoven also had a strong performance, tying for second in the high jump. He cleared a final height of 6-10 3/4 as one of five runners-up in the event. That height is a quarter inch off his school record. Senior Abbie Zaspel and freshman Elise Sigg each competed in the women's 10,000m on the meet's first day Thursday. Sigg competed in the Olympic development division of the event, finishing in 36:07.70. That time is sixth in school history and put her 25th in the event on the day. Zaspel ran in the open division and took 22nd in 36:53.70 The meet continues later Friday night and wraps up Saturday. Freshman John Simons will compete in the 5000m Friday and senior Kelsey Conrad will run in the 100m and 200m events Saturday. The remainder of the Panther squad compete at the Dave Rankin Invitational Saturday in West Lafayette, Ind.
