MILWAUKEE - Shelby Schaal and Durell Busby were named Horizon League Track & Field Athletes of the Week, the league office announced this morning.

This is the second time this outdoor season Busby has been honored by the league and fifth time in his career, while the award is a career-first for Schaal.

Schaal kicked off Milwaukee's weekend at the storied Kansas Relays with a bang, winning the heptathlon in school-record fashion. The Waterford, Wis. native set season-best times in the 200m and the 100m hurdles on her way to an overall score of 5,063 points, a new UWM record. That mark now stands 40th in the nation.

Busby then wrapped up the weekend for the Panthers, breaking his own school record in the 110m hurdles in the final day of action to take home the third gold medal for Milwaukee at the elite competition. The junior took the top spot after a run of 13.90 in Saturday's final, just under his previous record time set at NCAA Regionals one year ago. Busby's time is now 24th in the nation and 14th in the west region.

The Panthers return to action this weekend, heading to two separate meets. The 103rd running of the Drake Relays will take place Thursday through Saturday (April 26-28), while the Marquette Invitational starts Saturday, April 28 at 10 a.m. at Valley Fields.
