Panther Players Look Ahead To Key Weekend Road Trip

Nov. 4, 2010

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's volleyball team is on its way to Ohio and Indiana for a key weekend road swing.

The Panthers (17-8, 12-1 Horizon) play at Wright State Friday night before squaring off with Butler Saturday afternoon. UWM begins the weekend one-half match ahead of Butler (17-7, 11-1) in the league standings.

The Bulldogs are the only league team to beat the Panthers this season, and a second win by Butler would give it the inside track for the regular season title and likely the right to host the upcoming league tournament. Meanwhile, two wins by Milwaukee this weekend would give it at least part of the league crown and a great shot at hosting the league tourney.

Senior Jena Berg and juniors Kerri Schuh and Mary Beth O'Brien shared their thoughts about being in first place and the matches this weekend right before departing campus this afternoon.
