Panthers Head To NCAA Great Lakes Regional

MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's and women's cross country teams head to the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Friday, traveling to Madison, Wis. for the big meet. The action at the Thomas Zimmer Championships Course gets underway at noon with the women's 6K followed by the men's 10K at 1:15 p.m. SCOUTING THE MEET For complete meet information, including directions, parking and more, click here. LAST TIME OUT On the men's side, senior Jake Reilly took third overall and four other Panthers recorded personal records on a tough course as UWM finished third in the league with 90 points. The Panthers women also had a strong showing at the league meet, led by junior Sammy Woller. Woller grabbed Second-Team All-League honors after finishing 13th overall and 10 Milwaukee runners posted PRs on the day to help UWM to a sixth-place finish. LEAGUE NOTICE Reilly won the award after taking 17th and placing as the Horizon League's top runner at the Bradley Classic. He posted a new personal-record time of 24:57 at the large meet.
Reilly also won the award on Oct. 1 after taking an outstanding fourth overall and third among collegiate student-athletes out of more than 350 competitors at the Louisville Classic, and again on Sept. 10 after winning the Midwest Collegiate Open going away with a time of 25:51.8, a full 30 seconds in front of the next runner. |
